The 2015-16 season is off to a wonderful start! Thank you to Chicago and Seattle for kicking off the season with two superb tournaments.

Thank you also to all of you for being so proactive with registration - we have 40 active teams this year, and 38 of you registered on time. I'm pretty sure that's a new record.

We had 41 transfer requests this year, possibly another record. Most of this is due to new teams spreading out in Reno, Grand Rapids and Akron. We had one transfer denied, five players were granted extensions to submit additional documentation for a fee and 35 players were approved.

Keep an eye out in the next week - we have some exciting news to be announced in the Full Court Press about this summer's Strategic Planning sessions.

We are also looking for interested members to join our committees, so please let your players and staff know. We certainly are seeing some strong discussion on the new player-run unofficial Facebook page. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do! Let's keep this momentum going. Please also note that the Minutes from the USQRA Board of Directors meetings are posted on our website.

Please be aware of the upcoming deadlines:

October 15 - International players must be rostered by this date.
November 1 - Registration is closed and there is no further registration allowed.
November 1 - If any fines/fees remain to be paid that team will not be postseason eligible.
December 15 - Last day to add a player.
January 15 - Deadline for teams to withdraw from postseason.

Additionally, the dates for Nationals have been pushed back one week by the host. We apologize for the change. The AGM will now be held on Thursday, April 21 with the tournament beginning on Friday, April 22 to conclude on Sunday, April 24.

Have a great season,
Carolyn Odom
