Team Force Head Coach and Team Leader Announcement

The USQRA is pleased to announce that Mr. Dave Ceruti will be the new head coach for Team Force. Dave comes to the team with years of experience as both a player and a coach. He played for 19 years, to include winning a Gold Medal at the 1996 Paralympic Games. Having also coached for six years, to include a stint as the Assistant Coach of Team USA wheelchair rugby, Ceruti is sure to bring a wealth of knowledge to the team. In regards to taking the position, Coach says “I am excited and honored to be asked to lead the next Team Force. since having coached the first team, at the inception of the pipeline program, this team has developed into a training ground for both Team USA and the USQRA, having produced a number of past and current National Team members.” Tryouts for Team Force to field the team for the remainder of the 2013 season, and the entirety of the 2014-15 seasons will be held at the Lakeshore Foundation, in Birmingham, AL October 23-26, 2013. The tryouts will not only be for players, but also those looking to be on the staff of Team Force. Ceruti says that “it will be a competitive tryout with all roster spots open.”

In addition to a new coach, Team Force has also named a new Team Leader, Ms. Heather Campbell. Heather currently resides in Birmingham, AL and works for the Navy Wounded Warrior- Safe Harbor adaptive sports program. Heather’s rugby experience comes from coaching and being team leader for the DC Capitol Punishers for six years. Campbell states “I am thrilled to be a part of Team Force and get back into the world of wheelchair rugby. I look forward to building a new team of players and staff, and am excited to see the successes this team can have.” Team Force provides advance training for players and staff, therefore strengthening club teams and providing the next generation of world class athletes.
